What It's Like Here

I took these pictures today. You can see how much snow we have. We have just emerged from a month of minus 20 temperatures, about 20 degrees below the norm for this time of year. Today it was -20 in the morning, and went up to zero at 6 pm.

Here's a herd of deer in the back, soaking up the sun.

A nearby country church at Crooked Lake

Hay bales in the valley early in the morning

Windrows of snow so high they bury the signs

All that white stuff! Looks a wee bit overwhelming, thanks for posting the photos!

Here's my neighbour's dog happy in the snow out back for her 10 minute run http://www.flickr.com/photos/mdintoronto/5504672418/

Yes MD, now we're wondering how long it will take for it to melt. We(four-leggeds and two-legged persons) can't walk in the pastures yet.
Love the puppy!

I'm sure the llama herd have become a huddled mass by now? Poor things - have they taught themselves to make igloos with their cloven hooves!

No, the llamas are pretty comfortable, they all head into the barn when it's windy and even keep the horse warm with their body heat. They are so insulated by their wool only their extremities get cold, and then they head inside -- they're lucky they have a big building!
